Portrait of Kelvin Del Monte

Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer

Kelvin Del Monte

Senior full-stack engineer and technical leader with 18+ years architecting scalable platforms that power millions of users.

I help organizations drive critical missions via technical initiatives, solve complex problems, and deliver solutions that drive business outcomes.

AI-enabled engineering

Engineering is evolving

The landscape of software development is shifting. AI isn't replacing engineers, it's amplifying what we can build. I've been using LLMs to assist in development since 2022, integrating tools like Cursor, Codex, Claude Code, OpenAI API, and n8n into my workflows to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and deliver solutions faster than ever before.

Beyond using these tools in my development workflow, since the emergence of LLMs I have learned to integrate them directly into the software I build when they're the right tool for the job. I see them as architectural components that can solve problems in ways traditional code cannot. I have learned to build systems where LLMs maintain context across conversations, orchestrate workflows autonomously, and coordinate with other agents to accomplish complex tasks. This enables me to create intelligent systems where LLMs are first-class citizens in the architecture, not just external APIs.

Designed and launched a product request pipeline that allows customers to request new products not in the company's repertoire, enabling the company to investigate, track, manage, and deliver these products to generate revenue, producing over $1.35 million in revenue in 8 months where previously this money was being left on the table.
  • Transferred to the sales and product team working on Never Ending Support (NES), a software product that provides long-term support for end-of-life technologies, going from beginner to subject-matter expert in the product offering.
  • Became the go-to person for automating manual processes using AI, with work impacting sales, engineering, and product teams across the organization.
  • Through pioneering AI-powered processes and automations, contributed to the company's broader embrace of AI tools and automation across teams.
  • Designed and launched a product request pipeline that allows customers to request new products not in the company's repertoire, enabling the company to investigate, track, manage, and deliver these products to generate revenue, producing over $1.35 million in revenue in 8 months where previously this money was being left on the table.
  • Created an AI-powered Technology Usage Tracking process that analyzes multiple data sources including dependency files, customer surveys, and client call transcripts to classify and count technologies seen in customer environments, providing the product team with valuable insights about customer technology usage and generating leads for future product launches, where previously they had little to no visibility into this data.
  • Developed an automated dependency analysis process that allows handling most incoming requests independently, saving valuable engineering time and helping serve more customers.
  • Established credibility and secured leadership approval to build software initiatives that align with company goals, originally operating as a one-person department and building structure from the ground up, now growing the department with a recent hire and creating an onboarding process for new solutions engineers to pave the way for continued growth.

Rewrote the SmartPCP React application within a tight timeline, gathering requirements and specifications to deliver a complete rewrite that enabled the company to secure client contract renewal.
  • Brought on specifically to rewrite a React application (SmartPCP) that required improvement before a critical contract renewal deadline, gathering all requirements and specifications to deliver a rapid, complete rewrite.
  • Completed the SmartPCP rewrite on time, enabling the company to secure client recommitment and contract renewal. Read the case study.
  • Helped the front-end team migrate the Kelvin AI platform from Create React App to Next.js, proposing a migration strategy that ported the entire application as client components first, then incrementally adopted Next.js features.
  • The incremental migration approach proved to save significant development time and reduce bugs compared to the original plan, which involved rewriting each module to opt in to as many Next.js features as possible from day one, creating more complexity and potential for errors.
